There might be snow on the ground, but plans are underway for the spring Skywarn classes again.
Skywarn is a nationwide network of volunteer weather spotters who report to and are trained by NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS). These spotters report many forms of significant or severe weather such as Severe Thunderstorms, Tornadoes, Hail, Heavy Snow, and Flooding.
Classes will be held at the Macomb county ISD building on Garfield in room 103. Please see our meeting page for a map to the ISD.
Dates are as follows:
Wednesday, March 31 7 pm – 9 pm
Saturday, April 10 9 am – 11 am
Wednesday, April 21 7 pm – 9 pm
Classes run just about 2 hours, with a short break between sections.
