Plans are in development for a full scale exercise to test our Cities Readiness Initiative plans this June. Macomb County Office of Emergency Management and Macomb County Health Department are working with Patriot Services to develop this drill that will activate the Main EOC as well as the Distribution NODE (DN).
The Macomb County portion of the exercise is a small part of a statewide exercise being conducted June 14-18 2010. The exact date of for our participation has yet to be determined. Stay tuned to the website, weekly nets, and meetings for the exact date. A total of 8-10 participants will be required for our part in this exercise. Participants heading to the DN will meet at a staging area and will be bussed to the operations area.
As a reminder to all involved, the Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI) is a federally funded effort to prepare major US cities and metropolitan areas to effectively respond to a large scale bioterrorist event by dispensing antibiotics to their entire identified population within 48 hours of the decision to do so.
Due to the secure nature of a portion of this exercise, it is a requirement to be registered with R.A.C.E.S. and in good standing to participate.
